SALT LAKE CITY, UT - February 5, 2003 - parvus Corporation today announced that it will be relocating to a 20,000SF facility in Salt Lake City at 3222 S. Washington St. by the end of April 2003. The move marks the company's 20th year in business and comes after years of steady, profitable growth, including a 23 percent increase in standard product line sales during fiscal year 2002.
Privately held since 1983, parvus Corporation manufactures PC/104 computer circuit boards, as well as integrates custom computer systems based on these specialized boards for such end-applications as aircraft, medical devices, military equipment, and vehicular navigation systems. The company currently employs 30 people and is located at a 12,000SF facility at 396 W. Ironwood Drive, Salt Lake City.
"parvus' performance in 2002 is largely attributable to our focus on executing well within our existing customer base, which continues to reward us with new orders and contracts," said parvus President Tom Hogan. "The markets we serve, primarily military, medical, and process control, while not immune to market fluctuation, are considerably less volatile than segments such as telephony or consumer electronics. In general, they are rebounding or remain stable. Particularly in the military arena, appropriation of budgets has our customer base ramping projects with new bids providing significant assurance of a strong pipeline of new business throughout the remainder of 2003 and beyond."
The company's standard product line includes a variety of small, PC-compatible computer cards (designed to the PC/104 form factor), ranging from power supplies, avionics and military bus interfaces, networking cards, diagnostics and prototyping tools, processors, and I/O peripherals, as well as enclosures.
parvus Corporation was formed in October 1983 by George "Troy" A. Takach, Jr., who currently serves as the company's Chairman and Chief Technical Officer, as well as Chairman for the State Advisory Council on Science and Technology to Utah Governor Leavitt. parvus was the first Utah corporation to gain ISO-9001 certification (in 1993), a quality management system that continues to strongly influence the company's electronics design and manufacturing approach.
parvus Corporation is a leading manufacturer and systems integrator of modular embedded computer boards, enclosures, displays and systems based on the PC/104 circuit board standard. Its rugged, embedded PC products offer commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions ideal for avionics, military, medical, industrial, and transportation OEMs. For more information, visit www.parvus.com or call 801-483-1533.
