CoreModule™ 410 CPU satisfies low-cost 486 controller demand through 2010
San Jose, CA – September 8, 2003. Ampro Computers, Inc., the inventor and leading supplier of PC/104 and EBX single board computers for non-backplane embedded systems, introduced today the CoreModuleÔ 410 PC/104 CPU module to extend the life of headless 486 systems through 2010. Embedded system OEMs with modest controller or processor requirements are no longer forced to move up the performance curve just to keep their systems in production. Also, Fortune 500 system manufacturers in the medical and military electronics industries now have a dependable source of low-cost 486 modules for the migration of their systems that use end-of-life 486 modules. The CoreModule 410 module features a 133MHz processor, memory, serial ports, and an IDE interface. Pricing and Availability
The CoreModule 410 will be priced at under $350 in single quantities, and well under $300 each in moderate volumes. The CoreModule 410 is available today for evaluation and qualification with production volumes available in 60 days.
About the CoreModule 410
The CoreModule 410 PC/104 processor module is based on STMicroelectronics’ STPC Elite microprocessor running at 133 MHz. CoreModule 410 provides two RS-232 serial ports, one with RS-485 capability, EPP/ECP parallel port, 8 general-purpose I/O (GPIO) pins, PS/2 keyboard and mouse interfaces, floppy disk interface, and synchronous DMA 33 IDE disk interface. The CoreModule 410 provides 16MB soldered SDRAM, 1MB Flash (768KB for OEM use), and onboard Bytewide socket for a DiskOnChipâ 2000 bootable flash drive.
