Ampro Strengthens PC/104 I/O Offering with Four New Lines  
Extensive I/O and Processor Support Now Available from the PC/104 Inventor 
San Jose, CA - November 18, 2003. Ampro Computers, Inc., the inventor and leading supplier of PC/104 and EBX single board computers for non-backplane embedded systems, announced today additional I/O expansion capabilities for its Little Board(TM) and CoreModule(TM) single board computers (SBCs) and CPU modules. The four new MiniModule(TM) A2D, MiniModule FPGA, MiniModule GPIO, and MiniModule UART product lines make it easy for embedded system manufacturers to build better products, faster. This announcement means that industrial, medical, military, and transportation OEMs have a single source of high-quality SBCs, CPU modules, and analog, digital, and peripheral I/O.

Ampro features these analog-to-digital, digital-to-analog, field programmable gate array (FPGA), general purpose I/O (GPIO), and UART serial port modules within its existing line of MiniModule PC/104 products. These products support I/O requirements up to 150 configurable input/output signals on a single module, which greatly reduces the size of PC/104 stacks for I/O-intensive applications. 
About the MiniModule Family 
MiniModule products supplement the I/O found on EBX-form-factor SBCs such as the Little Board 700 which features low-power Pentium® III and Celeron® processors, as well as PC/104- and PC/104-Plus-form-factor CPU modules and SBCs such as the 486-based CoreModule 400 and the new CoreModule 410 and 600 products. MiniModules plug on top of the CPUs and SBCs using the industry-standard PCI and ISA buses in rugged, reliable PC/104 and PC/104-Plus connectors, yet plug in horizontally (rather than vertically like slot cards) to greatly reduce the height and mounting requirements of end systems. In addition to the new models, Ampro offers the MiniModule PCC III, MiniModule 1394, and MiniModule USB2 for high-speed I/O such as PC Card (for WiFi™ 802.11 wireless, etc.), IEEE 1394 FireWire™, and USB 2.0, respectively.
